My intention is to add new energy, passion for the region, and new ideas with long term sustainable (Social, Economic and Environment) vision based on our existing assets. To give the community a fair hearing and informed reply to their concerns and enquiries while making the council more approachable, transparent and accountable with independent, consistent common sense decision making.

Sustainability when used means; Triple Bottom Line (Social, Economic and Environment)

Reason for standing;

Convincing Council of the importance and benefits of our two biggest assets “Narawntapu National Park and the Rubicon Estuary” and the “Bell’s Parade Mersey River area” being the centre piece of any long term planning for Latrobe and Port Sorell.

I have been dealing with the Latrobe Council for last ten years regarding sustainable development and building a healthy community. During this period I and many others have had problems in being heard due to no vision for the long term sustainability of the Latrobe Municipality.

I hold a very large passion for regional sustainability that includes solutions for long term job creation especially for our youth through the development of projects and industry that create a net benefit for the area’s unique conservation values.

I have been disappointed by some of the council’s lack of research in their decisions and believe I have plenty to add to the community through ideas, experience and knowledge that will introduce new energy and real vision to the Latrobe Council.

I won’t be your normal suit wearing councilor, accepting what the Mayor or General Manager believe as being the only alternative, but will be asking questions including why are we doing this, while listening to the community views.

All my decisions will be based on well analyzed research based on more grass roots input with a common sense approach that represents the best interests of the ‘whole municipality’.

While standing for your rights as a resident, business owner and ratepayer I will be fighting for the long-term as well as the short-term benefits of the Latrobe Municipality with no intention of ever standing for any other form of government.

I totally understand the commitment needed to fulfill the before mentioned aims and wouldn’t be standing if this wasn’t possible in my future time schedule.
