Untidy roadside in Clarence
Recent letters to the Mercury have supported what Debra Thurley Candidate for Local Government Clarence City Council elections has been claiming for some time.
Roadside verges and median strips are a disgrace in Clarence. The roadsides and median strips of State Highways such as the Tasman Highway and the South Arm Highway are unkempt untidy and embarrassing for locals and tourists alike.
Maybe we should put some heart back into roadside maintenance and have the State Government pay the Council to look after all roadside maintenance in Clarence. Pride of place will hopefully rule.
Ms. Thurley believes the role of Alderman should include the lobbying of State Government to provide better outcomes for Clarence starting with attention to roadside maintenance.
