The Liberal Government should listen carefully to the advice of Industrial Commission President, Tim Abey.
Labor Leader Bryan Green says the evidence given to the Legislative Council by Mr Abey is compelling.
“Tim Abey has said today the Industrial Commission will be potentially destroyed by Peter Gutwein’s legislation.
“This should be a wakeup call to the Treasurer that his Bill goes way too far.
“Labor called for the legislation to be withdrawn and redrafted and it’s increasingly clear that’s the path the Government should go down.
“The Liberals do not have a mandate for public sector wage cuts or for changing the industrial relations system.
“Just like with their protest legislation, the Liberals have failed to consult.
“The lack of work around both pieces of legislation calls into question the Liberal Government’s competence.”
