LILYDALE DISTRICT PROGRESS ASSOCIATION
The Lilydale community is to honour long time Lilydale supporter Ald. Annette Waddle with
a farewell function and presentation at the Lilydale Bowls Club on Sunday, 31st August
2014 at 2PM.
Ald. Waddle is a past President of the Lilydale Progress Association and a Launceston
councillor, who represented Lilydale for many years at the Council table. She is retiring at
the upcoming council elections in October.
Ald. Waddle worked to create or upgrade many of Lilydale’s landmarks, such as the
construction of the fire station, the Village Green, and the Lilydale Falls Reserve. She also
took a keen interest in Lilydale’s water supply issues.
David Brown, a local resident and business owner, said “This function is to show our
appreciation. Few realise just how much she has done for this community over the last 25
years, as much of it was behind the scenes. She would badger the council until they
acted”.
Present and past residents of Lilydale are all welcome to attend at no cost, and are
requested to bring a plate to help with catering.
The Lilydale District Progress Association Inc. is the resident’s and business’ association
for those in the 7268 and 7267 postcode areas within the Launceston City Council.
