Titile: Council set to put a submission to Wellington Park Trust to reject any pinnacle zone extension- potential serious blow for the Cable Car
Alderman Jeff Briscoe said today that on Monday the HCC will consider whether or not to put a submission to the Wellington Park Trust who are considering an extension to the Pinnacle Zone to accommodate the cable car proposal.
“The officers have strongly recommended to the Council to reject any extension to the pinnacle zone for a variety of planning reasons including environmental, natural and landscape reasons.”
A special joint meeting has been called prior to the full council meeting to consider the report. “It will be an interesting council meeting” Alderman Briscoe said whilst not committing to suggest the outcome.
Alderman Briscoe said his notice motion for a Springs development is also on Monday’s agenda for the full council meeting after gaining unanimous support from the Parks committee.

The officer’s recommendation to Council
“The amendment is inconsistent with the Council’s preference for visitor facilities being developed at the Springs; and
The Trust has not demonstrated how the proposed amendment furthers the vision, principles and objectives of the management plan, and the purposes for which the Wellington Park was set aside”
