Respect The Mountain will be holding a public meeting at the H. Thompson Badminton Centre, 101
Cascade Rd, South Hobart at 11am tomorrow Sat 23rd August 2014.
The meeting will be held to assist people with making submissions to the Wellington Park
Management Trust regarding the boundary change.
An explanation of the what the boundary change will actually mean to the mountain will be
provided as well as more information about the elusive visitor centre proposed for the summit.
Featured speakers will include Jason Turvey (Spokesperson for Respect The Mountain), Ted
Cutlan (Spokesperson for ROCC) Nick Sawyer (Spokesperson for ‘Friends of Mount Wellington’, a
group hosted by the Tasmanian Conservation Trust, during the 1993 cable car campaign. He is
currently Secretary of the Tasmanian National Parks Association although he will not formally
represent them.) and Annie Phillips (Representative from the Climbers Club of Tasmania)
