The State Budget will deliver on our promises, clean up the budget mess and lay the foundations for the future.

Today, we’re delivering on our commitment to help reinvigorate Devonport through through the Living City Master Plan.

The Devonport City Council believes the planned development will pave the way for more than $250 million worth of construction work, create more than 600 jobs in the construction phase, and support more than 1,100 ongoing jobs once the project is complete.

The Liberal Government through the Department of State Growth is providing $40,000 to co-fund a study into the economic impact, investment opportunities and tourism potential.

We are also working with the council on plans for the transfer of two Government-owned sites, the Magistrates Court and LINC, to consolidate land for retail development in the CBD.

The Liberal Government’s plan for Tasmania is focussed on pursuing investment opportunities and creating jobs, and our contribution to the Living City Master Plan is a demonstration of this commitment.
