The Junction Arts Festival will once again shine the spotlight on Northern Tasmania.

The Liberal Government is committing $750,000 over three years to secure the future of the arts festival, which last year injected more than $1.4 million into the local economy.

Its unique approach of bringing audience members and community groups to centre stage with professional performers and art works is proving popular.

This year’s five day program includes contemporary art, music and performances by artists from Launceston to London.

Since its inception in 2010 the Junction Arts Festival has earned a place on the mantle beside our premier events like Dark Mofo, last year attracting more than 32,000 attendees.

It is events like the Junction Arts Festival that will encourage people to travel to our state, which will help reach our Government’s target of attracting 1.5 million visitors per year by 2020.

The festival runs from September 10 to 14.
