The Liberal Government welcomes the Productivity Report into Tasmanian shipping and freight, and we welcome the Federal Government’s renewed commitment to retaining the Tasmanian Freight and Bass Strait Passenger Vehicle Equalisation Schemes.

We particularly welcome the Productivity Commission’s positive recommendation of extending the Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme to north bound export freight.
This has always been our position.

We will work cooperatively with the Federal Government to deliver the best outcomes for Tasmanian exporters.
