Labor Leader Bryan Green has expressed his concern over potential job losses at electrical contractor PSG.
“Reports that up to 200 jobs are in jeopardy are deeply worrying,” Mr Green said.
“We’re calling on the Premier to do everything he can to secure these positions.
“PSG has a proud history in the state, having stemmed from the successful Russell Smith company.
“I’m encouraged by the comments of former owner Mac Russell who suggests the Tasmanian arm of the business remains viable.
“Those comments require the Government to act with urgency to ensure Tasmanian jobs are protected.
“Will Hodgman patted himself on the back for saving jobs at Qantas but that doesn’t mean he can sit on his hands while jobs on the North West Coast are put at risk.”
