Resources Minister Paul Harriss must come clean on exactly which “levers” he intends to pull when it comes to Forestry Tasmania.
Shadow Tresurer Scott Bacon said the Minister left everything on the table during Question Time this morning.
Mr Bacon asked Mr Harriss which of three “levers” he would use to keep Forestry Tasmania solvent – privatisation, a debt transfer or allowing the company to go further into debt.
“Mr Harriss said he’ll use all levers to make sure FT doesn’t trade while insolvent,” Mr Bacon said.
“That statement should send shockwaves that Mr Harriss still doesn’t know what he will do to keep the Tasmanian forestry industry from imploding and that privatisation and increased debt are on the table.
“The clock is ticking on this decision.
“The Government has to be up front with tax payers over what it has planned for Forestry Tasmania.”
