Shadow Sports Minister Michelle O’Byrne wishes Tasmanian Brendon Bolton all the best for his senior coaching stint with Hawthorn.
The former North Launceston, Clarence and North Hobart premiership player will replace Alastair Clarkson who has stood down from the top job to deal with an illness.
“Our thoughts are with Alastair and his family as he deals with his current health challenges,” Ms O’Byrne said.
“But we are very proud that it’s a Tasmanian who’s been asked to fill Alastair’s big shoes.
“Brendon’s already got an enviable coaching record and I’m confident the next chapter of his career will only enhance his reputation.
“It’s yet another reason for Tasmanian football fans to get behind the Hawks when they play the Eagles at Aurora Stadium on June 7.
