The Tasmanian Liberal Government has welcomed the COAG announcement that all Governments remain committed to the full-scheme roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The Tasmanian Government’s priority for the NDIS is to fully participate and partner with the Federal Government in delivering the full roll-out in Tasmania.
The Liberal Government has been the strongest supporter of the NDIS, which will herald a significant change in the way disability services are provided.
When fully rolled-out in Tasmania the NDIS will not only give people living with a disability more support, but deliver support to more people.
While we are 100 per-cent committed, that does not detract from our concern that the NDIS was rushed under the previous Federal and State Labor/Green governments and we will fight hard to ensure that the National Disability Insurance Agency, set up by the Federal Government, has solid foundations and is capable of delivering the full scheme without delay.
The Tasmanian Liberal Government went to the last State Election with increased funding for disability services and our commitment is unwavering in ensuring that the lives of Tasmanians with a disability are improved.
The Government will continue to fight for Tasmanians to receive the benefits promised under the full rollout of the scheme.
