Yesterday Tasmanians for Transparency released results of our candidate survey on our 12 Point Plan for Honest Government in Tasmania ( TT here ). 13 candidates responded to the online survey questions all of whom supported the establishment of an Independent Anti Corruption Commission and stronger whistleblower protection laws in Tasmania.
While no major party chose to complete the online survey The Palmer United Party and the Tasmanian Greens sent a letter to Tasmanians for Transparency outlining their well-considered views on our questions and what they would do to promote honesty and transparency in Government.
Tasmanians for Transparency has given the Tasmanian Liberals a zero score for their response contained in their letter outlining their total opposition to our 12-Point Plan.
The Tasmanian Liberal Party in its response has said it has:
* no plans to change the Integrity Commission
* no plans to change whistleblower legislation
* no plans to support online publication of the Tasmania Police Manual
* no plans to change Right To Information legislation or the Ombudsman’s discretionary powers on RTI
