“A five hour film featuring a river of raw sewage, part-funded by the SA Weatherill government, will premiere at the Adelaide Festival next Sunday,” FamilyVoice national research officer Ros Phillips said today.
“Promotional material describes the film as “hypersexual”, and a recent US review indicates that its scenes of explicit brutality, sodomy and coprophagia (eating faeces) could breach Australia’s film classification guidelines.
“How could our SA Premier – who is also Treasurer, Finance Minister and Minister for the Arts – justify spending our scarce tax dollars on this kind of horrific and potentially illegal production?” Ros Phillips said.
