Dear Sir/Madam

41% of Tasmanians volunteer to help others. This is 7% higher than the national figure of 36%. Volunteer rates are higher still in rural and regional Tasmania. These figures show that Tasmanians are doers, are generous and punch above their weight when it comes to serving others.

As national volunteer day has just passed, we should all think of ways to firstly thank a volunteer. Secondly, we should all think of opportunities to volunteer if not already.
