And that’s a wrap! As the dust settles on AMPLIFIED 2013, we wanted to spread the news of some early outcomes that have resulted from the weekend.
On Monday evening, AMPLIFIED 2013 delegate Sarah Howells, ensured the rest of the country heard about the splendid time she spent checking out Tassie acts, with a special Tasmanian music feature on her triple j radio show Roots N’ All.
The playlist was Jed Appleton, Lulu and the Paige-Turners, Dark Matter of Story Telling, The Dead Maggies, Christopher Coleman Collective, and Mangus – the first time being played on national radio for 4 of these artists.
This followed The Middle Names interview and play on triple j lunch on Saturday.
Along with performances; panel workshops, a networking function and roundtable discussion sessions provided an invaluable opportunity for artists to share their activities, challenges and plans with delegates.
The connections made have resulted in commitments from delegates to foster performance pathways for artists to play shows in Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne through their venue networks.
22 artists performed for AMPLIFIED and were brought together to engage with 13 delegates and fellow artists. Over 900 gig goers attended across the four shows held on November 29 and 30 at the Republic Bar, The Brisbane Hotel, the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery, and The Grand Poobah.
