The Tasmanian Government is currently calling for public submissions regarding its GM crop moratorium ( http://bit.ly/15kNCR6 ). Please take the time to make one – no matter how short! The public submissions period closes at 5pm, Friday 11 October 2013.

The Safe Food Foundation and Organics Tasmania are co-hosting a couple of industry forums on the benefits or otherwise of Tasmania extending its GMO moratorium. The forums are intended to enable farmers and the food industry to have a frank conversation about the issue.

The forums will be held on the Thu 3rd Oct – with a lunchtime forum near Launceston and an evening forum in Hobart. I’ve attached the flyer for the event.
