Family First Senate Candidate Peter Madden has declared that all Family First Preferences
will flow to the Liberals before the ALP in Tasmania.

Mr Madden said of the decision:
“There are two primary factors in our decision. Firstly, I have spoken to both Brigadier Nicolic
and Eric Hutchinson and received assurances that they would not vote for homosexual
marriage. And secondly, because of the ALP’s sell out to the Greens”.

“We find it unbelievable that the ALP in Tasmania has made a seemingly suicidal deal with
the Greens preferencing them ahead of Christian and family values candidates in the Senate
in Tasmania. After all the rhetoric from PM Kevin Rudd and Chris Bowen about ALP
separating themselves from the Greens, we now have conclusive proof that their rhetoric is
an absolute lie and ALP are still completely tied to the Greens” Mr Madden said.

“The Greens polling across Australia shows that their Senate seats are vulnerable in Tasmania
and a number of States. The ALP has now made it possible for the Greens to maintain the
balance of power in the Senate by giving them their preferences. We cannot, in good
conscience, support ALP at all after this? A vote for the ALP now in the Senate is clearly a
vote for the Greens. Not only have the Greens decimated the Tasmanian economy but
homosexual marriage is the Greens signature issue” He said.
