In 2012 six enthusiastic Tasmanians were drawn together from all corners of the State as part of the
Tasmanian Leaders Program, with the common goal of undertaking a community project big enough
to matter but small enough to achieve.
It now comes full circle with the team of dedicated volunteers inviting all Tasmanians to an evening
of fun and entertainment, including the opportunity to hear from renowned larrikin priest Father
Bob McGuire, who is making the trip to Tasmania with the sole purpose of supporting the recipient
of the event’s fundraising efforts, Marillac House.
Marillac House is a wonderful initiative of the St Vincent de Paul Society based in
Launceston. Marillac House assists patients, carers and family members in times of crisis,
accommodating those undergoing surgery, hospital treatment, emergency care or rehabilitation in a
supportive and caring environment.
The Marillac House cocktail party will be held on Friday, 6 September from 5.30pm at QVMAG in
Inveresk, Launceston. Tickets are $65 each or two for $120 and can be purchased by contacting
Jennifer at Marillac House on (03) 6331 0405 or by email at [email protected].
All funds raised will go towards assisting Marillac House to carry out much needed work to upgrade
facilities in the house, including making sure at least two of the bathrooms have disabled access.
