Greens Leader Nick McKim MP today confirmed that the Greens will participate in the Premier’s proposed jobs forum.
“The Greens welcome the proposed jobs forum, and we will take the opportunity to submit for consideration our job creation proposals including those outlined in our recent Vision 2030 document,” Mr McKim said.
“Tasmania’s unemployment rates are too high, and need to be turned around quickly.”
“We hope the forum will be an opportunity to create consensus for the need to move beyond political one-liners and towards a consensus on how to create more jobs.”
“While it is important to bring together political, community and industry stakeholders, the challenge will be to ensure that the forum delivers achievable goals and does not just become a ‘talk-fest’.”
“The Greens will be ready to roll up our sleeves, and be part of delivering solutions,” Mr McKim said.
