The debates of the Tasmanian Youth Parliament today draw to a close.

Participants will debate three Bills during the day in the House of Assembly. The students, aged 15-18, will debate as members of Government and Opposition before taking a conscience vote.
All debate sessions are open to the public and media, and participants will be available for comment at any time. Most debates will run for approximately one hour.

Following debate, the 2013 Tasmanian Youth Parliament will be officially closed at 2.00pm by Rebecca White as the Premier’s representative, and Cassy O’Connor, the Minister for Community Development. The Bills passed by the 2013 Tasmanian Parliament will be presented, along with the Youth Parliamentary Declaration, developed during Advocacy sessions throughout the week on the topics of Homelessness and Housing, Mental Illness, Public Transport, Euthanasia, and Parliamentary Representation.
