Momentum behind the Hobart Light Rail project continues to build with the second roundtable meeting of stakeholders and supporters on Friday.
The roundtable follows the release of the business case backing a line to Glenorchy, and the first meeting of the state and local government taskforce to drive the project forward.
Roundtable convener Anna Reynolds, Greens candidate for Denison, said this session would be an opportunity for over 30 organisations and businesses to show their support for the light rail project.
“Greens aren’t about talk fests,” Anna said.
“A project like this will only succeed if we have buy-in from a broad range of representative bodies and businesses, and all three levels of government. Those attending the roundtable know this smart, economical and environmentally friendly public transport system will transform and revitalise Hobart.”
“I’m pleased that the Greens’ Minister from the ACT responsible for Canberra light rail is attending the meeting to explain how their project is progressing.”
