Tasmanians Against the Pulp Mill leader Bob McMahon died peacefully overnight.
The Tamar Valley resident was at the forefront of Tamar residents’ fight against Gunns Ltd’s plans to build a $2 billion pulp mill at Long Reach, lauded in one article in The Age as, The man who pulped the pulp mill
His shock death has left his wife Sue and extended family and many friends in deep mourning.
Bob McMahon was Tasmanian Times’ 2012 Tasmanian of the Year.
