The Labor Government has again lacked the courage to mention the words Carbon Tax in its latest advertising blitz.
A new advertising campaign, which comes on top of the $70 million already spent, has been launched referring to household assistance, but failing to acknowledge that it’s compensation for the Carbon Tax.
If the Government really believes that the community supports the Carbon Tax and that it is good policy, why are they so afraid to mention the words?
It is more dishonesty from the Labor Government and from a Prime Minister who said there would be no Carbon Tax before the last election.
The Government pretends the Carbon Tax is not hurting but the Australian community won’t be fooled.
As the NSW Treasurer released figures, the Carbon Tax is costing that state close to $1 billion in just the first year.
And on 1 July, the Carbon Tax goes up again, and as a result, so will electricity and gas bills.
The Government must immediately halt this deceptive advertising and stop wasting more taxpayers’ money.
Previous advertising campaigns have cost $70 million. In addition, it is handing out $2 million for public relations without a tender and $20 million for energy efficiency information grants for which the tender documents were destroyed.
This Government has abandoned all principles of honesty, good governance and sound financial management.
