SAME-SEX MARRIAGE COMPREHENSIVELY DEBATED AND DEFEATED IN AUSTRALIA – MOVE ON

“Proposals for same-sex marriage have been comprehensively debated in Australia, both at the Federal and State level, and defeated,” said Guy Barnett spokesperson for the Save Marriage Coalition today in response to developments in the United Kingdom.

“Most Tasmanians are telling me that the economy is, and should be, a priority for our Government and that we should move on from same-sex marriage.

“Interestingly, there are less than 15 countries that have legalised same-sex marriage out of the more than 200 countries in the world, and Australia is certainly in the majority.

“At the end of the day, children still deserve the right, wherever possible, to both a mum and a dad,” Mr Barnett concluded.
