Well-Deserved Honour for Tasmanian Environmental Champion
The Tasmanian Greens congratulated long-time Tasmanian environmentalist Geoff Law, who today received an Order of Australia for his leading role in the state’s environmental movement.
Greens Leader Nick McKim MP said the award was well-deserved recognition for one of Tasmania’s most passionate and dedicated environmental advocates.
“It’s fantastic to see someone who has contributed so much to protect our internationally acclaimed and unique wild places receive such well-deserved recognition,” Mr McKim said.
“Geoff is a quiet achiever who works tenaciously on the difficult and often thankless work of environmental campaigning.”
“Geoff is a legend in Tasmania’s conservation community a nd is incredibly generous with his time, energy and insight to foster and mentor others across the environment movement.”
“He has inspired and encouraged many over the years, including me, and I am sure he will continue to do so for decades to come.”
