“My songs are my biography” – Peter Allen

For a strictly limited season in February the Wrest Point Showroom will be ablaze as if it were
yesteryear – but the show will be all new. A brand new production of the famed and lauded musical
The Boy from Oz – live in Hobart at last.

This is a coproduction of Craig Wellington Productions (Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Monty
Python’s Spamalot) and the Old Nick Company Inc (Uni Revue and 65+ years of other dramatic
and comedic theatre). It will be directed by Kris Stewart (Wicked, Festival of Voices) and Charles
Parkinson (Tasmanian Theatre Company).

The Boy From Oz is the most successful Australian musical ever – the only Australian musical to
make it to Broadway.

“Wrest Point – celebrating 40 years – is the perfect venue,” producer Craig Wellington said. “We are
extremely excited to announce this show and our first cast members. This production features some
very well known theatre names and there are some newcomers to the stage as well in the role of
Young Peter Allen.”

Lizzie Moore is Liza Minnelli, Chelle Burtt is Judy Garland. Tom Hawkey and Josh Williams will
both play Young Peter Allen. In numerous other roles and musical numbers, cast members include
Scott Farrow, Di Richards, Nicole Farrow, Bree Langridge, Ivano Del Pio, Stuart Pearce, Chris
Hamley, Blair Ashwood, Jeames Bone, Rhys Johnson, Danielle Lipscombe, Matt Meehan Lam,
Grace Ovens, Madeleine Poultney and Alexandra Sykes.

“There will be additional exciting and major casting news soon,” Wellington said.
