Senator Richard Colbeck confirmed that Brett Whiteley has been selected as the Liberal Party’s candidate for the next Federal election in the seat of Braddon.

“Brett’s experience in the North West community and in the Tasmanian Parliament makes him ideally placed to take on Labor and return the seat of Braddon to the Liberals,” Senator Colbeck said.

“The people of Braddon have been missing out in recent years and I’m sure Brett will work to restore the Hope Reward and Opportunity the North West needs,” Senator Colbeck Said.

“I am honoured to be selected over a high calibre field of candidates to represent the Liberal Party at the next election,” Mr Whitely said.

“The North West has been let down by the current Labor member. He has supported the closure of the forestry industry and has stood by while our mining industry is threatened. If elected I will fight for the North West’s key industries.” Mr Whiteley said.

“This election will be a choice between staying put in scandal and selfish acts of political survival or going forward with integrity and a real commitment to restoring confidence and private investment in our region,” Mr Whitely said.
