Tasmania is to be the first port of call this month for Australian Wool Innovation’s (AWI) nationwide Wool Clip program, which provides information on the latest developments in the sheep industry.
At the free one-day event in Launceston on June 21 AWI speakers will join interstate and local presenters to update Tasmanian producers on the latest research and development news, on-farm management and investment opportunities within the sheep industry.
The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association and SheepConnect Tasmania are hosting this Wool Clip event, which is an AWI-funded initiative tailored to meet the needs of local producers.
It will have presentations on:
• keeping flies, lice and worms under control
• management options for footrot
• sustainable pasture systems
• labour-saving ideas for wool growers
• profitable breeding
• managing sheep, and
• investing for higher labour efficiency.
TFGA chief executive Jan Davis said today it would be an ideal opportunity for local producers to bring themselves up to speed on the industry.
“Wool Clip provides a single event for producers to identify how best to invest their time, effort and dollars,” she said.
Wool Clip will be held at the Tram Sheds, Inveresk on June 21 from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm
