Today’s announcement by Volunteering Australia to close its Melbourne office will
have minimal impact on the operations of Volunteering Tasmania and associated
organisations, according to Volunteering Tasmania CEO Adrienne Picone.

Ms Picone said despite a decision by the peak national body to undergo a major
restructure and move its operations to Canberra with a new and smaller team, it
would be ‘business as usual’ for the State’s volunteering staff and organisations.
“While these changes and redundancies at Volunteering Australia are unfortunate, I
would like to assure people that we will continue to provide strong representation for
individuals and organisations involved in volunteering in Tasmania,” Ms Picone said.
