The story so far …
The Mercury in Hobart is moving its offices to Salamanca Place and selling the grand old Macquarie Street building. To mark the move, some former Mercury journalists have suggested a simple editorial reunion combined with a nostalgic walk-through of the old building. Mercury management has agreed to the tour.
The move to Salamanca is scheduled for July 2012, but the precise timing is unclear at this stage. A Saturday afternoon tour followed by a Saturday night function has been proposed at a date suitable to the Mercury.
If you are interested in participating, please respond below. The mailing list so far is very preliminary, so please forward this to any former Mercury journalists you think may be starters.
Plans will be developed when the date is set and the level of interest can be ascertained.
