Autumn Greetings from Despard, you are invited to the opening of ‘Animalia’ – a celebration of animals in art.

A Squillian years ago our forbears painted in caves – the first subjects were predominantly animals, today we don’t see to many artists painting the hunt, so much as immortalising their favourite beasties and fantasy creatures in sculpture, painting and photography.

The show has a wild selection of art works depicting animals, humans with animal features and vice versa – from the farm to the imagination;Noah would be proud if some what perplexed …….

The show includes four new artists showing with Despard for the first time;

Eva Schultz, Bertie Blackman, Yvette Watt and Andrew Antoniou –
They combine with Bill Yaxley, Dale Richards, Michael Eather, Helen Hopcroft, Simon Cuthbert,Rodney Pople, Bob Jenyns and Sebastian Galloway.
There is also a selection of animal theme jewellery and objects including a good 1950’s John Perceval coffee table.

Wear your animal prints,hats and faux fur or the real thing if you have them.

Thursday evening the 29Th March from 6 p.m. – (sorry no pets)
