Tasmanians are being given the chance to feature in a TV advertisement as part of a new WorkSafe
Tasmania campaign to raise awareness of the importance of being safe at work.
WorkSafe Tasmania campaign spokesperson Kevin Harkins said with more than 9,700 workplace injuries
reported across the State in 2010 and 2,604 of those occurring in northern Tasmania, the campaign was
a great way to help spread important work health and safety messages to the community.
“There is more to life than what goes on in your workplace and we are asking Tasmanians to show the
world all the big – and little – reasons why they need to make it home safely from a day’s work,” Mr
Harkins said.
“Entrants are asked to upload a photo that depicts their reason for being safe at work on our website
and then several entries will be selected each week to feature in our TV advertisement.
“These reasons may range from your family, favourite hobby, family pet or sporting prowess. Whatever
it is that lights up your life when you’re not at work, we would like you to share with us.
“The message we hope to pass on to all Tasmanians is that your most important reason for being safe at
work, is not at work at all.”
To go into the running to feature in the WorkSafe TV advertisement simply visit
www.worksafe.tas.gov.au and upload a photo which depicts your most important reason for being safe
