Imagine ….. drinking a glass (or two) of wondrous Tasmanian shiraz and eating Tassie cheese direct from the factory whilst reading a new release book written by a local author. All purchased with a few mouse clicks.

This vision of Tasmanian utopia will become a reality when Tassie Store, Tasmania’s online department store, is launched in the new year.

Tassie Store is an exciting initiative designed to boost the Tasmanian economy. It will support small businesses and social enterprises to expand their markets, particularly interstate and overseas.

Tassie Store will also promote tourism by showcasing Tasmanian regions and the location of suppliers.

Tassie Store will be Tasmania’s answer to eBay, but the focus will be on quality products that are made, grown or created in the state.

The success of Tassie Store will largely depend upon enlisting many high quality suppliers. It is intended to launch the store with a diverse range of products. Therefore, Tassie Store is calling on potential suppliers, including artists, authors, designers, farmers and musicians, to apply to list their products for sale by emailing [email protected]

Others are invited to visit TassieStore on Facebook and suggest suppliers they’d like to see on the website. Also, anyone can sign up on www.tassiestore.com to be kept informed about the TassieStore launch.
