The Mutaho Foundation will be holding a fancy dress “Africa and Tribal themed” fundraiser this Wednesday night at the Observatory Bar to raise money and awareness for the Kenyan Foundation supported by Tasmanian families.
“Many school leavers are celebrating the end of finishing their exams while many young people in developing countries dream of having a comparable education and opportunities,” said Madeleine Charles, event organiser.
“The African themed fundraiser provides an opportunity for unleashed school leavers to have fun and get behind a great cause. The Observatory Bar are also giving exclusive buy one get one free drink deals during the fundraiser for attendees” said Madeleine.
All money raised from the night will go towards supporting the MutahoChildren’s foundation (MCF). The foundation provides not only education through sponsorship of school fees and uniform costs for children but also hope and opportunities for the entire community. MCF is working towards improving support, awareness and understanding towards HIV/AIDS.The organization relies on a team of Tasmanian’s including Josie Young Shisanya and KizitoShisanyaNahol.
“Education is a critical factor in providing hope not only for the individuals engaged in the project but for the wider community. In Australia we are blessed with copious opportunities and resources, if we all contribute a small amount we can make a large difference to individuals who will then create change in their village,” said Josie.
“Every donation makes a difference. A donation of $100 will provide one school uniform including shoes for a year and I cannot explain the appreciation felt by a child knowing that someone from Australia cares enough to give them that gift” said Josie.
