Lucy Bleach – Local Colour
CATALOGUE LAUNCH
3- 5pm, 27th November 2011
Over 100 people have contributed artworks to Local Colour, an exhibition by Hobart artist Lucy Bleach currently on show at the Devonport Regional Gallery. Over the past 3 weeks numerous residents, school groups and visitors to Devonport have shared their drawings, paintings and stories about the region of Devonport.
Lucy Bleach invited locals to share their experience of Devonport on small white cards called ‘Splodge Cards’. There are over 300 individual drawings and sketches on display as part of the exhibition Local Colour.
Both the Gallery and artist have been very impressed with the artworks the community of Devonport have produced and we encourage people to visit the exhibition before it closes on the 27th of November.
The Devonport Regional Gallery and artist Lucy Bleach is inviting everyone who participated in the creation of the show to join us for a celebratory afternoon tea on Sunday 27th of November from 1 to 3pm at the Gallery.
The Gallery will also be launching the catalogue of the exhibition which features some of the drawings and paintings by local artists and school groups, along with the artists video and installations.
