Candidate for Alderman in the Hobart City Council elections, Dean Charles Parry, has urged residents to post their ballot papers as soon as possible.
“Local government is probably the most important tier of all layers of government.
Local government affects the individual directly and immediately.
The Tasmanian Electoral Commission needs to take a look at the way they conduct Local Government elections.” Mr Parry.
“I have spoken to many residents who are so disappointed with the quality of the Mayoral candidates they have decided not to vote at all.
It is unclear on any of the material supplied to the residents if they must vote for Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Alderman.
Many other residents are unhappy about political parties such as the Green political party trying to take over council and implement crazy loony tune schemes.
Residents want their Council to invest their hard-earned money into infrastructure that they will actually use.
They want the potholes that litter their local streets, roads and footpaths properly addressed, not just patched up every two years at election time.
They want adequate street lighting that allows them to walk home safely at night.
We must fight to protect out City. Please vote 1 Dean Charles Parry or any other non-Green Candidate.
