Nominations for the Planning Institute’s of Australia Tasmanian Division’s Awards for Planning Excellence are closing soon. Entries from individuals, the profession, industry and community groups and organisations are welcome.
As the only awards that formally commend ‘best practice’ in planning across Australia, we welcome you to be part of this opportunity to showcase your or others achievements in the built and natural environment.
This year welcomes a new nationally consistent suite of award categories that are specifically designed to respond to contemporary planning research and practice across all sectors of the industry. The intent and scope of the 2011 Awards extends on planning, development, places and people and in focused on projects that showcase innovation, advancement and excellence in “Creating Liveable Communities”, a core principle of urban and regional planning.
The winner of each category will be forwarded to the national judging panel for consideration as part of the National Awards for Planning Excellence:

We hope that the new Award Categories will provide an opportunity to celebrate outstanding planning excellence achieved through collaboration between participants in the planning process including Government, education institutions, private practice, the community and the wider development industry.
