Code Green is holding another film night, this time it’s “The Burning Season”, an amazing film about the problem of deforestation in Indonesia and the subsequent burning of the forests to clear the land for plantations of palm trees for their oil.
We are in the middle of Tasmania’s own burning season, when Forestry Tasmania conduct their annual ‘Regeneration Burn Plan’, which destroys habitats and leads to massive amounts of carbon being released into the atmosphere.
WHERE: Fresh Cafe, Charles St (next door to the Wilderness Society)
WHEN: Tuesday, 17th of May, at 6:30pm
WHO: Code Green
Entry is only $5 and there are free yummy vegetarian nibbles provided. Tasmanian beer and wine are also available for purchase. Please come along and show your support. Bring friends. Hope to see you there!!
