Hundreds of thousands are expected to watch tonight’s Sydney Mardi Gras Parade and cheer in support for marriage equality of all Australians.
Alex Greenwich, National Convener of Australian Marriage Equality: “tonight’s Mardi Gras will deliver Julia Gillard a clear challenge: will you be the Prime Minister that deliver’s equality to loving gay and lesbian couples or will you follow in Howard’s and Rudd’s footsteps and perpetuate discrimination against us in the marriage act”
Mr Greenwich will be joined by Prof. Kerryn Phelps, Jackie Stricker-Phelps, Sen. Sarah Hanson-Young, Geoff Field, Jason Kerr, Geoff Thomas on the Australian Marriage Equality Now float at the parade. In toal 16 floats and thousands of marchers will hit the streets to demand equality. They are expected to be cheered on by and estimated audience in the hundreds of thousands.
