The St Marys Markets which were held on the 4th December, were the last markets for 2010. It’s been a wonderful year for these growing community markets, we are seeing more visitors who are stopping on the way through town to take a look! There wee approximately 24 stall holders at the Christmas markets with a variety of wares, fresh produce and crafts. The Break O’Day Regional Arts held a clearance stall of materials that we can no longer store and raised enough money to host one of the Visual Art exhibitions that will be held in various locations throughout 2011. Thank you for your support, the remainder of the Break O’Day Regional Arts committee clearance goods will be at the WoodGuild markets on the 18th December, please come along and purchase something to support the provision of ongoing arts events in your community.
Watch this space for more information on all of the arts events that will be happening throughout the Break O’Day region in 2011. Kathy’s Kitchen has been replaced by Beth, who is still searching for a name for her culinary treats. Beth provided fabulous fare for hungry market visitors, the usual dhal and scones were served, along with the addition of some spinach quiches that proved to be a hit with patrons. Music was by Steve Davies from Launceston and Vicky Patterson from St Marys who played up a storm and were enjoyed by many who took a relaxing break to listen to the guitar playing , vocals and drumming. Thank you Steve and Vicky for a great days entertainment.
The new dog leash area has been placed outside the hall by Council and we thank Council for assisting the community in this endeavour, the Dog Leash area is indicated by a “Clean up After your Dog” yellow sign to the right of the hall drive way.
The next markets will be held on January 1st 2011 and we invite you to come along and enjoy the very relaxing music of Ian and Rita Summers who will be on stage. We encourage you to spend the day at St Marys as the St Marys Pacing Club will be holding their annual New Year’s Day Races !! Markets run from 9-2 and the gates open at the Races at 11am.
