“Resignation from Hobart City Council”
Elise Archer, who was recently elected to the House of Assembly as a Liberal Member for Denison, has resigned as an Alderman of Hobart City Council.
“I confirm that the General Manager, Mr Nick Heath, received my letter of resignation last night after the full Council meeting was held (on12 April 2010). My resignation is effective immediately upon the General Manager’s receipt in accordance with section 47 of the Local Government Act. I understand he must now notify the Electoral Commissioner.
“This is my personal decision and one which came about because I wish to concentrate on the whole of my constituency, that now being the electorate of Denison,” says Elise Archer.
