AN election ad praising Graeme Sturges has been ridiculed – because the people featured in it are Labor staffers and party members.
The Infrastructure Minister said yesterday he saw nothing wrong with the campaign featuring a series of people voicing support for his re-election bid in Denison.
But political opponents derided the ads amid revelations the endorsements came from people either employed in his office, working in other Labor politicians’ offices or who were Labor members.
Sharon Carnes works with federal member Julie Collins and says Mr Sturges is “delivering in Denison”.
Mitchell Best, who is the brother of Labor backbencher Brenton Best (Accused yesterday of acting like a bully towards amateur theatre director Darren Sangwell, after Best’s daughter Ebony (18) was dropped as star in a school musical: Mercury HERE) and an officeholder of the Glenorchy branch of the ALP, describes Mr Sturges as a “hard-working bloke”.
And Brenton West, who says “Graeme Sturges gets things done”, is an electoral officer for Labor senator Carol Brown.
