Greens Leader and Member for Franklin Nick McKim MP today launched his running mates on the Franklin ticket for the upcoming state election, describing them as a dynamic and determined team who will run an energetic campaign.

Mr Mckim said that with the tide turning on a tired and out of touch Labor government, people know that a change is likely, and the Greens will work hard to present positive proposals on a wide range of issues that matter to the community.

“I am delighted to announce my four fearless running mates on the Greens’ Franklin ticket, Adam Burling, Wendy Heatley, Mark Harrison and Deborah Brewer,” Mr McKim said.

“This Franklin team brings passion, courage, determination and a wide breadth of experience to our election campaign, as we tackle the range of issues that are important to the community.”

“The hike in the cost of living, the water and sewerage fiasco, better health and housing services, improved public transport options, fixing the post year 10 mess, are all key issues affecting Tasmanians, and after 12 years of Labor people are prepared to look for answers elsewhere.”

“People are also looking for a vision beyond the short sighted election cycle, which will protect Tasmania’s special places, and get on with preparing the state for a carbon constrained economy.”

“The electorate of Franklin is particularly vulnerable to sea-level rise, and we are committed to strong action to protect our communities and infrastructure, as well as reducing emissions.”
