TasCOSS, Anglicare Tasmania, Unions Tasmania, Environment Tasmania and Sustainable Living Tasmania are holding an Our Island Our Voices forum to explore the implications of climate change for low-income house holds.
The aim of this forum is to share ideas, unpack what a carbon pollution reduction and emission trading scheme might mean for Tasmanians, and consider practical steps to reduce the cost of living effects of Government responses to climate change on low-income households, particularly in relation to energy consumption.
The dialogue will include presentations from visiting national policy experts from the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) and the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), as well as local environment and community sector representatives.
