RONALD McDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES VICTORIA & TASMANIA LAUNCHES RIDE FOR SICK KIDS FUNDRAISER

This month, Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania (RMHC VIC & TAS) is launching its 12th annual Ride for Sick Kids (RFSK) event, raising vital funds for seriously ill and injured children and their families.

From Saturday 19 to Monday 21 March, a group of 40 riders will cycle 200kms around Ballarat to raise $160,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Victoria & Tasmania, providing 1,000 nights of accommodation for families in need.

In addition, after a successful virtual event last year, RMHC VIC & TAS will once again launch its virtual Ride for Sick Kids event. The self-paced challenge will run from Saturday 19 to Sunday 27 March and aims to raise $96,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Victoria & Tasmania, providing 600 nights of accommodation for families in need.

The charity is calling on Victorians and Tasmanians to support the physical fundraiser via donations or participate in the virtual ride with all funds raised going directly to Ronald McDonald Houses in Victoria and Tasmania.

Peter Bishop, CEO for RMHC VIC & TAS, said, “Ride for Sick Kids has been an incredible fundraising event over the last twelve years, and we are delighted to be welcoming back our virtual ride after a highly successful year in 2021.”

“We are calling on all Victorians and Tasmanians to support the fundraiser or take part in the virtual ride to help us towards our goal in raising vital funds for families with seriously ill or injured children.” said Peter.

Over the past 12 years, riders have raised more than $2.9 million for RMHC in Victoria and Tasmania through RFSK, clocking over 157,000km on their bikes and raising enough funds for 15,500 nights of accommodation for families.
