Ryan Wiggins survived a tragic spinal accident that has since left him a quadriplegic. Fellow Tasmanian and AFL Legend, Jack Riewoldt, has pledged his support by riding across Tasmania on December 19 to raise much needed funds for his recovery and rehabilitation.
RYAN’S STORY
On 4 July 2021, Ryan Wiggins, 26, survived a devastating spinal injury which resulted in a highly severe, near fatal C2 fracture to his spinal cord.
Ryan has spent the last 5 months hospitalised in Melbourne, and has only recently returned home to Tasmania to continue his recovery and rehabilitation.
A builder, and player at Cygnet Football Club, you would find Ryan renovating, training, playing football, catching up with mates, or walking his fur babies. Ryan and his family face a long road ahead, and through the generous support of the local and wider community, every dollar counts in supporting Ryan’s journey.
All funds raised from Ride For Ryan will go towards Ryan’s rehabilitation essentials, house renovations and expert care. The ultimate goal is to raise enough money to fund a trip to world-renowned Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado, to support Ryan’s spinal rehabilitation.
