MIKE CASSIDY, West Tamar
John Gay asks Bob Brown why he opposes the foreigners’ pulp mill project (Examiner 7 July)
If John Gay is so concerned about getting answers, why has he not asked those whose jobs are threatened in tourism, fishing, vineyards and related small businesses?
He could also ask those who live in the Tamar Valley airshed up to 55k from the mill what they think about breathing foul fugitive odours that come from all kraft pulp mills. And what they think about the damage to their health.
He may also ask the community how they could possibly object to a big heavily-subsidised outfit putting out of work lots of small businesses that depend on Tasmania’s clean image.
The community has been waiting, waiting, ready to provide answers but John has never called.
