Readers should compare and contrast this puny effort by FT et al with the report produced by Timber Workers For Forests a few years ago, available in full as a pdf from the TWFF website: twff.org.au. Look through “Research”. I note that the vastly under-rated celery top pine barely gets a mention in the FT survey. I wonder why? I recently salvaged a tad more than 25 tonnes from a coupe close to the National Park boundary, likely to be burned very soon. I was charged the princely sum of $13.50 per tonne plus GST.
